I’ve tried a lot of different things when it comes to weight loss, and I’ve found that some things work better for me than others. I take a little piece of whatever I’m currently doing or trying, and then add it back into something else.

If you’re a long time reader of this blog, you know I’ve tried a lot. I’ve tried “not dieting,” Advocare, Weight Watchers before and also was involved in the Woman’s Day Live Longer & Stronger Challenge in 2014. There is good to every one of those things I’ve just listed. I’ll say it here, and please know that it resonates throughout the rest of the post as well: This is a NO judgment area! What works best for someone may not work for someone else, and there is good to everything I just listed. I’m on a constant journey to find what works best for me. I don’t wish to say anything bad about any of these programs (or others I haven’t mentioned because I haven’t tried them!) or snark on them. Instead, I’d like to talk about why I’ve decided to do Weight Watchers again. [Full disclosure: I’m not paying to go to meetings or an online membership. Instead, I’m using materials I already have from previous attempts in an effort to keep the costs for me down. Clearly, this is in no way a sponsored post. Ha!]
Why I’m Doing Weight Watchers Again:
- It’s a program I’ve done before and had success on. The last time I lost my most weight (40+ pounds) it was on WW.
- It allows you to eat real food.
- Fruits and vegetables are free (!!!).
- And last, but certainly not least:
- It gives me the structure I crave, with the opportunity to still live my life. I can make room for things like cupcakes, wedding cake and the occasional fast food as long as it fits within my points.
The last time I did Weight Watchers (~three years ago), I was still in the mindset of “I’ll do this now but when I get to “x goal weight,” than I’ll go back to eating normally. That does not work! Since then, I’ve really began to better understand my relationship with food, and through everything thing I’ve tried I’ve built a better foundation of what works and doesn’t work for me.
I’m a constant work in progress, but stubborn about reaching my goals. I’m hopeful, nervous and excited to begin this journey (again) and I’m so glad that you all around for the ride.
If you have any Weight Watchers tips, tricks, facts or anything else – share them in the comments! Weight loss is something we can always lean on, and learn from, one another one. I’d love to learn more from you all, and my hope is (as always) to be a supportive, inspirational person for you all.
